Wow. Last night was Super Bowl LXI, and to our absolute shock, the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t just win—they demolished the Kansas City Chiefs. As we watched, stunned, we couldn’t believe what we were seeing: Kansas City was trailing 17-0 near the end of the second quarter. This was not the Chiefs we’ve come to know—a team that usually dominates and crushes its opponents. It was unsettling, almost surreal.
I turned to Hebrew, trying to make sense of it, and he pointed out something I hadn’t even considered. Why was Mahomes’ wife wearing a MAGA hat? Why had Trump removed “End Racism” from the end zone? And then it hit me—both the women closest to him, his wife and mother, are Trump supporters. And Trump, in turn, has openly embraced the Mahomes family. Imagine that. Your mother and wife backing a man whose very public Christian nationalism stands in opposition to your own father and his ancestors.
